Stan's Market Report \ July 1, 2008
Dear friends,
Usually, this comes so easily but for some reason and for one of the times in my life I am almost at a loss for words. Year to date CAAR shows home sales in Wintergreen and Stoney Creek of 47 and land sales of 7 for both areas. There is no consistent or seasonal pattern; it is just the case of a slower than normal market. One can dress it up or put a happy face on it, but it doesn't change what it is.
It is a buyers' market, and a good time to look if you are considering a long term hold. It is not such a good time to sell when considering the sheer number of properties on the market and all the other "stuff" going on in our country. On second thought this may be a good place to take a break and enjoy all Wintergreen and the area have to offer.
The Resort has planned lots of activities for the 4th: Arts and Crafts Show for Friday and Saturday, Chairlift rides, Fireworks and a Concert on the slopes on Friday, and a casino night for Saturday night. It should be a great 4th and hopefully this wonderful weather continues.
Good News: the weather truly has been absolutely beautiful with low humidity and crystal blue skies. I have returned to the valley office. Just never was a good fit for me in the Mountain Office, but I will be there on weekends and several times a month for duty days. Please feel free to call if you need anything as I am just a short distance away, but a little closer to Matthew and swimming lessons, baseball games, etc.
On a sad note Bill Sampson, one of our agents passed away after a fight with cancer. He will be missed by all and remembered and maybe that is all that needs to be said about someone.
Maybe it is just me, but it just seems everything is a little off balance. I am not sure what that means but it is the only way I can think of the describe it. Anyway, keep the faith. If I can help in any way, please call. If you wish to unsubscribe, please let me know. I am trying to make the transition to AOL 10.0 so a few names may appear that should have been deleted. Thanks and God Bless.
